Senior Systems Engineer

Job description:

We have an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive U.S. Army Systems engineering experience to lead and manage engineering support activities for the sustainment of a complex Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) system.
This system includes the integration of sophisticated sensors (EO/IR, SIGINT, Radar), communications and data links, onto tethered Aerostat/s (with avionics), and the associated Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (PED) capabilities.
The successful candidate will support the Chief Engineer with overall technical systems engineering and integration oversight and associated ECPs (Engineering Change Proposals) for development, manufacture, integration, test and support as required to address new CONOPs and support innovation/incremental improvements in a PLE environment.


The Senior Systems Engineer will be supported by a multi-disciplined engineering SEIT team (Systems, Software, Network, Platform, Cyber, Test, Reliability, CM & QA Engineers) in turn supporting the readiness and sustainment of a fielded ARMY Aerostat ISR system/s of strategic importance to our business and National Defense.
The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with other functional Program Managers in logistics and operations and report directly to the Director of Engineering.

The successful candidate must be able to perform and manage system tradeoff studies; manage requirements analyses and traceability; oversee size, weight and power (SWAP) management; review test and integration plans; participate in airworthiness evaluation and oversee final test and acceptance.
The candidate must have domain knowledge in all relevant ISR areas, to include; hardware and software integration, networking/IA/cyber requirements on accredited programs, airborne systems and integration, ISR sensors, communications, Ground Control Stations/workstations, platform airworthiness, and integration and test.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree technical field (EE, CS, or Physics) with minimum of 10 years of experience, Masters Degree preferred.
Minimum of five years in developing E/O sensor, communication and/or radar systems is required. Advanced degree can be substituted for job experience pending review.
Working knowledge in system level development, requirements definition, analysis, and risk mitigation for complex systems used on accredited programs. Experience with Verification and Validation requirements. Experience generating requirements using Model-Based Systems engineering and/or DOORS is preferred.
Technical competency in ISR sensors and enterprise processing, exploitation and dissemination (PED) technology
Demonstrated Lead Engineering experience on DOD ISR military programs
Experience in Systems Engineering and/or other technical leadership role on accredited programs
Experience leading Engineering teams with a strong focus on innovative solutions, program execution, engineering rigor, customer satisfaction, and speed to market
Ability to apply sound technical and programmatic judgment and drive effective risk and opportunity management and critical thinking to identify and investigate potential risk areas and resolve technical issues
Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to write and review technical reports
Experience in developing and submitting whitepapers and proposals to Government entities
Position requires an active secret clearance with ability to obtain a DOD TS/SCI (Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information) which requires U.S citizenship
