Senior Accountant

Job description:

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for driving improvements in the operations and process efficiencies. Assisting accounting functions, including general accounting, general ledger management, account reconciliation and integration of business combinations. Working closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis and other business partners teams to ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting, assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures, enhancing the internal control environment, and playing a strong role in assisting with external audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete accurate and timely financial reporting
Assist the Assistant Controller in planning and directing accounting activities across the organization to ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC, and other government regulations.

Lead specific month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate accounting.

Work closely with financial planning & analysis team on reporting efforts and monthly accruals related to budgeting and forecasting.

Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances

Improve the closing processes for a fast-paced, rapidly growing SaaS company.

Assist the accounting team in leading the audit process by external independent auditors.

Enhance the control environment around the internal controls for accounting and financial reporting.

Ability to work accounting integration for mergers & acquisitions.

Use technology to build scalable/sustainable processes to create efficiencies and streamline accounting operations.

Assist in preparation of full set of GAAP financial statements

Qualifications:

5+ years of work experience in the accounting area

Big Four or national accounting firm audit experience strongly preferred
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (vlookup, if formulas etc.)
Knowledge of working with ERPs (Netsuite preferred)

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree in accounting
