Reliability Engineer

Job description:

MISSION / SUMMARY:

Leadership position for Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for improving equipment and area reliability in the designated business area.

JOB FUNCTIONS:Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Ensuring prompt completion of RCFAs and corrective actions
  • Tracking PM equipment related downtime data and causes, using this data to identify opportunities for improvement, and selling these opportunities to area stakeholders.
  • Maintaining reliability improvement plan for departmental machinery.
  • Ensuring critical reliability improvement projects are on capital and repair job plans.
  • Ensuring reliability improvements are incorporated into routine and major outage work scopes.
  • Providing functional direction to and technical support to the area Reliability inspectors.
  • Improve utilization of predictive technologies to reduce unscheduled downtime.
  • Providing technical support of supervisors and craftsmen as needed.
  • Supporting planner work systems and master data improvement efforts such as PM development and storeroom inventory adjustment recommendations.
  • Implement Company Reliability Best Practices/Pacesetter Disciplines.
  • Support Capital and Repair Projects
    • Engineering Liaison. Develop and handoff capital work to plant engineering
    • Champion the element of Design for Reliability in all capital and repair jobs.
    • Facility Plan Development. Support 5-year repair plan development and provide input for capital planning.
  • Provide weekend coverage in department rotation.

Qualifications:

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5 years reliability experience in an industrial maintenance organization. Paper industry experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of reliability concepts and application

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • BS Degree in Engineering (preferred)

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an M-F assignment, with rotating weekend/night call coverage. Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Wear PPE when required: Hard Hat, safety glasses, hearing protection etc.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
  • Confined space entry of equipment and vessels during outages.
  • Walking down all process areas and equipment.
