Job description:

Established, Stable, Eastern Arkansas/Western Tennessee packaging manufacturer located in Osceola, Arkansas (45 minutes from Memphis, TN) is seeking a Project Engineer for their facility.

This positon will coordinate engineering activities for Technical Assistance and improvement of production operations and equipment at minimum cost in accordance with corporate and division policies and health and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate, and design engineering and construction projects to safe energy, reduce waste, control costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Provide liaison between plant and General Engineering Department of division.
  • Provide for or give estimates for alterations and new project work.
  • Solicit and help select vendors.
  • Handle responsibility for contractor safety and service.
  • Interface with other departments to give and receive information and service.
  • Assist in organizing Department budget, capital forecast, and costs to other departments.
  • Provide information and service to own department people on engineering,
  • Construction and other special projects.
  • Maintain engineering activities in accordance with corporate and division policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in Operations Improvement Program, Energy Savings Committee, and other necessary programs and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by department supervisor and/or manager.
  • Adhere to all local and corporate safety policies. Promote department and overall plant safety objectives.
  • Adhere to the ISO9001 standards to continually improve products and service to consistently meet customer requirements.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering field (Mechanical Engineering degree preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years of Engineering experience (Prefer Mechanical Engineering)
  • Effective Human Relations skills to provide service and to gain cooperation of others.
  • Ability to identify, define, and solve problems is also a must.
  • Manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of basic business math is essential.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Good verbal, listening, and judgment skills required.
