Safety and Security Manager

The Safety and Security Manager is responsible for managing all safety and security related programs and initiatives within the facility. This position will provide overall leadership, professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of the safety processes for all aspects of occupational safety and health at the facility. Provide expertise and guidance to department Managers and Supervisors in the realm of security, injury prevention, and OSHA compliance.
Manages Safety Program. Works with Operations to maintain a workplace free of recognizable hazards. Responsible for modification and adherence to corporate safety programs, administrative controls, and workers compensation/injury management.
Safety Related Trainings. Establishes necessary trainings to achieve our facility safety strategies and goals. Trainings include required compliance trainings as well as injury prevention initiatives. Will conduct most safety trainings.
Safety Champion. This position ensures facility management incorporates safety into the company culture. The outcome of these efforts must result in improvements for our work comp exposure as well as OSHA compliance.
Security. This position works closely with HR, QA (Food Security), IT, Maintenance/Utilities, and the Crisis Management Team to improve security measures at the facility as it relates to the security of property and people to reduce the risk of theft, property damage, product tampering, or threats of violence. Point of contact with our third-party security provider.
Required Qualifications :
- Associate Degree plus 10 years in an occupational loss reduction role.
- CSM and OSHA 501 (may be obtained within the first year for new employees).
- Proficient in both oral and written communication.
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software.
- Bachelors’ Degree in occupational safety.
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish)
